Understanding your Ploom X Advanced device

Ploom X Advanced is the latest of our heated tobacco devices, combining refined HeatFlow™ technology, premium materials, and an improved, stylistic design for durability and a superior tobacco experience.

And with our touch-based technology, IntuiTouch, operating Ploom X Advanced is effortless. There are no buttons or complicated interfaces to navigate, simply vibrations and LED indicators to help guide your experience.

Ploom X Advanced is more convenient than ever, with each session only requiring 25 seconds to reach optimum heating temperature and each charge allowing 20 puffs. Not to mention, due to the unique heating mechanism of Ploom X Advanced, users can expect no ash, meaning minimal cleaning and maintenance is required.

First-time setup and usage

Setting up your Ploom X Advanced is just as simple as using it.

Once you receive your new device, all you have to do is connect it to a power source with the USB cable provided to unlock shipping mode. From here, the LED light will flash 10 times and you will feel a long vibration – this means your device is now ready to use.

To start a session, insert an EVO tobacco stick and hold the button area until your device vibrates. Below is a detailed step-by-step guide on how to do this.

1. Slide the device’s cover open.
2. Put an EVO tobacco stick into the device, making sure to align the printed line to the top of the device.
3. Press and hold the button area until your Ploom X Advanced vibrates. You'll be able to see your heating progress on the light strip.
4. When your Ploom X Advanced is ready to go, the light strip will flash and you will feel two short vibrations.
5. Enjoy your Ploom session.
6. When you've got 20 seconds left, your Ploom X Advanced will vibrate and the light strip will pulse slowly. Once you feel one long vibration, your session is finished.

After you’ve enjoyed your Ploom X Advanced device for several sessions, you may notice it is running low on battery. You can check battery levels by sliding the cover open to display the battery light. If you see a fast, pulsating light, this means the battery is too low for a session and your device needs charging.

Below you’ll find a step-by-step guide on how to charge your device.

1. Connect your Ploom X Advanced to a power source using the USB cable and adaptor provided in the box.
2. Your charging session has started. If your battery is empty, it'll be fully charged in approximately 90 minutes.
3. You'll be able to see your charging progress on the LED display. Once it's fully lit up, it means your Ploom X Advanced device is almost ready.
4. Once your Ploom X Advanced is fully charged, the LED lights will turn off. 

Customising and protecting your device

To ensure optimum performance and longevity of your Ploom X Advanced, you should always take careful measures to avoid damaging your device. Keeping your device away from water is imperative, as it is not waterproof and any liquid entering the device will impact its usability.

Ploom offers a range of accessories to help you maintain your device’s aesthetic and functional appeal. Our front panels come in a variety of colours so you can personalise your device whilst also reinforcing its durability. We also offer stylish fabric and leather back covers that help to enhance grip.

Regular maintenance and care

Whilst Ploom X Advanced is easy to maintain, it is still necessary to clean your device every now and again to maintain an optimum performance and a consistent high-quality tobacco experience. We’d recommend checking your device’s heating chamber after finishing a pack of tobacco sticks to monitor any residue build up and determine when it needs cleaning.

Cleaning your device is simple with the Ploom cleaning sticks included with your Ploom X Advanced. Simply dampen your cleaning stick with clean water and insert it into the chamber, turning it a few times to remove any built-up residue.

To remove any remaining moisture from your device after cleaning, we’d recommend opening the slide and starting a usage session without inserting a tobacco stick. This will help evaporate any leftover moisture in the heating chamber to prevent steam from affecting your next session.

Aside from maintaining a clean heating chamber, you can also help prolong the longevity of your Ploom X Advanced by storing your device in a dry place, avoiding exposure to extreme temperatures, and generally handling your device with care.

Essential accessories for Ploom X Advanced

Ploom offers a range of accessories perfect for customising your device and maintaining its aesthetic appeal, from stylish front panels and practical carry cases. However, there are some accessories that are necessary for maintaining the performance quality of your Ploom X Advanced.

Cleaning sticks are provided with each device you purchase and are essential for keeping your device in good condition and increasing longevity. Regular cleaning will not only ensure a better performance but also a quality tobacco experience.

Additionally, a USB cable charger and wall adaptor are also provided with your Ploom X Advanced. Be sure to keep hold of these as they are essential for charging your device.

Troubleshooting and support

Ploom X Advanced has been designed for increased ease of use and an enhanced tobacco experience. That said, there is always a chance that you will require some troubleshooting advice with your device.

Typical issues such as your device not powering up or difficulty drawing in from the device can be resolved by charging your device or cleaning your device. Other issues, such as your device overheating can be resolved by leaving your device to cool down in a cool, dry space.

Problems with charging, such as the device not charging or taking a long time to charge, can usually be resolved by checking or replacing the charger cable and/or power source.

When your device has encountered an error, it will signal as such by the light strip flashing 10 times. If your device enters error mode, you should reset it.

You can reset your device easily by sliding down the front cover and pressing the button in the centre of the device with a thin object, such as a ballpoint pen, until you feel a vibration and see the light strip flash.

If resetting your device does not resolve the device error, please call the Ploom Care Team on 0800 876 6594 and they will advise you.

Most issues can be covered by our 1-year warranty or accidental damage coverage; however, you must register your device via Ploom.co.uk to ensure it is covered.
